Sibley, Iowa — Normally, about this time of year, the Community Foundation of Osceola County board tells us that they will begin accepting applications for their annual grant cycle on October first. But that will not happen this year.
According to Osceola County Economic Development Director and board spokesperson Stephanie Neppl, the board has decided to defer a new grant cycle until early 2023. Therefore, it will not open up the application period this fall as usual.
She tells us that updates will be posted here https://osceolacountyia.gov/living-here/community-foundation-of-osceola-county/ and shared when decisions have been made and application dates are chosen for the new cycle.
Grants can be awarded in the areas of arts & culture, community affairs & development, education, environmental education & protection, health, historical preservation, human services, and youth programs.
In the past, application limits were set at $5,000 per application per applicant.
Eligible applicants had to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; a governmental body (school, city, county), or a charitable project with a qualified fiscal sponsor. For more specific questions on eligibility you can contact the Osceola County Economic Development Commission at (712) 754-2523.
